PHASE 2: The Search
(December 2nd-22nd - YOUR CHOICE)
What happens:
- On mornings when you have time, move the elf to a new location.
- Leave one of the 20 pre-written search cards, nearby. Or write your own.
- Child finds the elf and reads where they’ve been looking (kitchen, bathroom, toy box, etc..).
- Use all 20 cards or just your favourites. Totally flexible, the story works either way.
Time: 2 minutes per morning (on days you do it)
PHASE 3: The Mission
(December 23rd)
What happens:
- Place your elf with the special “Mission” letter.
- Your child reads it: The elf can’t find the stable key! They need YOUR child to make a new one!
- Get out craft materials (scissors, card, glitter, stickers. Whatever you have)
- Spend hours making a magical key together.
Time: 1-2 hours quality craft time
PHASE 4: The Finale
(December 24th)
What happens:
- Child leaves their handmade key out before bed.
- Overnight, the elf “collects” the key.
- Morning: Elf has left departure letter and official certificate from Santa.
- Read Departure story cards, or digital story (links included).
- Your child saved Christmas!
